Due to damage resulting from Hurricane Ike in 2008, the Galveston Railroad Museum continues the rebuilding process, so two of its major exhibits — the display of model trains and the largest railroad dining china exhibit in the country — are currently unavailable. However, guests of all ages will love roaming through a variety of train cars, including dining, mail and private cars. Visitors can also take a 15-minute, round-trip ride on the Harborside Express, an authentic MoPac-13895, short-bay-window caboose that travels from the museum down Harborside Drive and back.
