Overview

Luxury meets family adventure at Beaches Turks & Caicos, located in the Caribbean’s stunning Grace Bay (voted #1 World’s Best Beach by TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards). The 758-room resort is a destination in itself, with five well-appointed villages—Caribbean, Seaside, French, Key West and Italian—each designed to reflect the style of its region.

The expansive resort is truly a wonderland, featuring kids’ camps and childcare for all ages, multiple pools throughout the resort, and the enhanced Pirate’s Island Waterpark, the largest aqua playground in the Caribbean. The water park features eight slides, a Body Glove Waves surf simulator, a 650-foot lazy river and much more. Parents, you’ve been warned; your kids may not leave the pool your entire vacation.

Families revel in the resort’s 21 onsite restaurants with an array of international cuisine styles. And Beaches’ claim to fame (one of them, anyway) is its association with Sesame Street. Favorite characters, including Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch, make appearances daily. Adventure programs with characters, as well as parades, nightly tuck-in times, breakfasts and photo opportunities are available for kids to enjoy throughout the week.

Note: While it was previously announced that Beaches Turks & Caicos would close indefinitely in 2021, the resort will remain open

Beaches Turks & Caicos - Caribbean and Seaside Villages
The Caribbean Village is the oldest at the resort, originally built as a collection of rooms at another resort, later purchased and renovated by Beaches, which also added an addition. Here, most of the rooms are among the smallest offered on the resort, and do not feature ocean views. Located beside the beach, the Caribbean Village is surrounded by tropical gardens and palm trees.

Naturally, this village has a European vibe and "left bank" sidewalks with bistros and cafes and beautiful gardens, inspired by those in Versailles. One massive pool with zero-entry and a swim-up bar and hot tub are centered in the village. Room options are better suited to large families (versus the Caribbean Village) with one-, two- and three-bedroom suites accommodating up to 14 people. The French Village is also the most budget-friendly. Standard rooms in this portion of the resort provide two double beds and a single sleep chair or one king and one twin daybed with a trundle. Located on the first floor of all the French Village buildings, these four-person suites feature a room with a king-sized bed with a trundle or two double beds with a single sleeper chair and a large walkout patio with views of the pool and gardens.
  • French Village Honeymoon Luxury Room (HFK & HFD) & French Village Luxury Room (FD & FK)

Sleeping four, the rooms feature a king bed with a trundle or double beds with a single sleep chair and French balconettes overlooking the pool and gardens.

Great family trip

by Aaron R

First time guest with the family and we all had a great time! All the restaurant choices were great. Loved the fact that my daughter with a nut allergy could eat everywhere and they took care of her needs. Scuba diving instructors Happy & Roldson were great. A little disappointed that there was so much wind which limited the beach toy use (kayaks, trikes, hobie cats) but that's what we get at this time of the year. Plenty of pools to choose from for swimming.

Also, the adult only restaurant-sopillas was amazing! We also had a great experience at Soy.. the sushi place with the manager.. Mercedes! She was the friendliness & treated us like gold! Also, the people who tie dyed our shirts..Lauriee...with 2 E’s, and 2 other guys I forgot their names....they were so great!! My kids are 13 and 16 so I can’t say much about kids activities...the beach is amazing...crystal clear water!

Family Activities

Pool and Water Fun
There are 10 swimming pools—three with swim-up bars—and four whirlpool hot tubs, including one stand-alone, adults-only hot tub with ocean views. Guests can enjoy three Caribbean Village pools: Cascade'sIguana's and Camp Sesame (for the 4-and-under set); Pirate's Island WaterparkRiviera Pool, the French Village Pool, the three Key West Village Pools (which include the resort's only adults-only pool), and the Italian Village Pool, the busiest of them all.

The Pirate's Island Waterpark, a 45,000-square-foot aquatic playground with eight new waterslides, two kiddie pools, a kids-only swim-up bar, 650-foot lazy river and SurfStream surf simulator for simulated surf experiences, are absolutely amazing. Tiny tots can enjoy a beached pirate ship with water cannons, cranks and sprays, along with a zero-entry pool. At every turn, you'll also find a lifeguard.

On the beach, families can canoe, kayak, paddleboard, Snuba, snorkel, wind surf, waterski, tube, cruise around in a glass-bottom boat, scuba dive, sail and hydrobike at no extra charge, as these activities are part of the all-inclusive rates.

Pirate Island
Besides being the place for kids to enjoy water fun, this area of the resort is also home to the kids' programs, divided into ages 5 to 7, 8 to 10, tweens and teens. Shadow Lounge is a game room for tweens and teens to hang out, and the huge air-conditioned Xbox Play Lounge features 45 Xbox game stations (although kids complain there are not enough working consoles).

Landlubber Fun
On land, and also included, families can enjoy croquet, lawn chess, beach volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis (day and night), table tennis, billiards and board games.

Club Liquid Teen Nightclub
From pizza and soda bars, to their own "nightclub" with karaoke, tweens and teens have a place to hang. Activities include supervised water sports, pool games, tennis clinics, dancing, and talent shows. Tween and teen programming include Liquid, the only 21-and-under nightclub in the Caribbean designed just for teens. The teen-only hangout includes arcade games and foosball. Parents, take note: this club turns into a 21+ dance club later in the evening.

Kids Camp at Beaches Resort
From the smallest newborn through 24 months, a baby is always in the very best hands at Beaches. There are two Camp Sesame locations: Caribbean Village and Key West Village. Climate-controlled nurseries, cribs, strollers, high chairs, rocking chairs and simply everything a little one could ever need are here from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. The resort has Certified Nannies, too, who are child development specialists that have been trained and certified in accordance with an accredited United States university. Children are divided into groups: ages 0 to 11 months, 12 to 24 months, and 3 to 4 years.

Three to 4-year-olds can truly have a blast with their very own set of activities, supervised by Certified Nannies. The fun includes toddler pools, shell collecting, face painting, treasure hunts, puppets, costume time, magic shows, sand castle building and so much more. Sesame Street characters often make an appearance here. Children must be potty-trained to participate in this program.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Camps are open early at 8 a.m.; if parents are registered for early-morning dives, pre-registration is required. All children should have sunscreen, dry clothing, shoes, swimsuits, diapers, wipes, and swim diapers.

Beaches Buddies and Special Needs Program
Beaches is all about inclusivity, which is why all of their childcare staff is INA and IBCCES certified. Parents can hire a One-on-One Beaches Buddy to assist families with special needs, who may need an extra set of eyes at the beach while exploring the property or when mom and dad want a romantic night out. Sensory-friendly areas are available across the property, and Kids Camp staff will do their best to help your child throughout their time in their care. One-on-One Beaches Buddies are available for $15 per hour 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and $20 per hour (plus $20 after hours service fee) 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Trench Town
This is Beaches' tween hangout. Offerings include air hockey, foosball, electronic basketball, big comfy couches with large flat-screen TV's, a state-of-the-art sound system and, of course, plenty of space to lounge, talk and text.

Caribbean Adventure with Sesame Street
Themed activities, including the colorful, loveable cast of Sesame Street characters, such as Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Elmo, are part of the fun at Beaches Turks & Caicos. Kids can go bird-watching with Big Bird, enjoy story time with Elmo, bake cookies with Cookie Monster, find magical treasures with Abby Cadabby, and enjoy puppet making with Bert & Ernie, art with Julia, and science experiments with Super Grover.

Sesame Street stage shows, a 6 p.m. Wednesday night character parade, character breakfasts, photo sessions, birthday parties and nightly tuck-in times are also available. Breakfasts featuring all nine characters occur on Mondays and Thursdays at 8 a.m.

Red Lane Spa Teen Spa Experience
Even teens deserve to be treated like princes and princesses every once in a while, so look no further than Red Lane Spa for such extravagant treatment. Services include special manicures and pedicures, and facials devoted to the complexion needs of teens. Exclusive Red Lane botanical products and essential oils are used.

Diving Programs
At Beaches, both experts and beginners can enjoy guided dives showcasing spectacular coral reefs, colorful marine life and exotic underwater treasures. Certified divers can enjoy up to two dives per day, which is included in the price of their stay.  PADI- Certified Scuba on-resort courses, offered at a fee, provide new divers with training to start diving from day one. Beaches instructors can also administer the practical exam for divers enrolled in the PADI eLearning program. Children can learn to dive in the Bubblemaker (for kids 8 and up) and Seal Team (for kids 8 and 9) programs, also at additional costs. Additionally, Beaches Turks & Caicos has expanded the diving program to include a special course for disabled divers.

Family Dining

There are 22 dining options in 21 restaurants (including two food trucks), plus 15 bars at Beaches Turks & Caicos. Culinary choices include everything from barefoot eating beachside, to gourmet themed-choices, to adults-only romantic dining. The resort also features a late-night, weekly Chocolate Extravaganza with a number of handmade chocolate delights. The Friday night Soon Come Back BBQ Beach Party is a must, when live music and bonfires are featured. On Wednesdays, repeat guests are also invited to attend Sandals Select Luncheons.

Bella Napoli Pizzeria
Wood-fired ovens make wonderful pizzas, don’t you think? We love all of the unique toppings (as well as traditional standbys) you can put on your pie too, including gorgonzola, pear, brie, prosciutto, sausage, artichokes, and seafood. There are even ripe banana and dark chocolate toppings for a sweet-style pizza fresh out of the oven. Grab a seat in a teakwood table and listen to calypso music. The dress code for this restaurant is casual, and it's open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bombay Club
Beaches first Indian restaurant, guests can feast on flavorful dishes like chicken tikka, lamb samosas, poppadums, butter chicken and mango kulfi (Mango parfait, sweet cardamom sauce, katafi biscuit). Dress is resort casual and no reservation is required; open 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (closed on Friday)

Bobby Dee's
Located within the Jolly Roger ship on Pirate's Island, with a classic 1950s diner feel, this place encourages guests to devour pizza, macaroni and cheese, burgers, chicken nuggets and other favorites. The dress code for this restaurant is casual, and it's open from 11 a.m. to 6 a.m. (yes, 6 a.m.—the restaurant aims to provide kid-friendly food around the clock). Psst… don’t miss the cotton candy for dessert!
Bar (non-alcoholic): 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is an enchanting destination serving espresso, coffees, cappuccinos and an assortment of gourmet pastries, perfect for a quick breakfast or afternoon break. The dress code for this restaurant is casual. Open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Giuseppe's
Tuscan-inspired selections can please all ages at this family favorite. Dine al fresco or inside the festive restaurant with cathedral ceilings. The menu is perfect for picky eaters as well as foodies, with made-to-order pizzas, braised lamb ragout served with penne pasta and shrimp linguini. The dress code is casual during the day, but resort evening wear (think sundresses and polos) during dinner.
Breakfast: 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Lunch: 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.; Dinner: 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The Jerk Shack
This authentic Jamaican Jerk shack serves up irresistible flavor in an open-air setting, open everyday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Kimonos
Knives flashing expertly, shrimp flying through the air with precision, and smiling kids are what you'll find inside this Teppanyaki-style eatery where the chefs put on quite a show. This spot is so popular that it's the only onsite restaurant that requires reservations; book as soon as you get to the resort! The dress code for this dinner-only restaurant (open 5 to 9 p.m.) is resort casual. Keep in mind that this dining experience is quite loud, so if you have children who are sensitive to loud banging, or are trying to have a good meal with great conversation, this is not the restaurant for you.

Le Petit Chateau
While little kids are in bed, children aged 12 and up can join their parents at this Parisian-inispired restaurant that features dishes like Sautéed Escargots and Pan-Roasted Grouper Filet. Just save room for all of the French desserts, including Grand Marnier crème brulee, and Almond Daquoise cake with pear. Resort evening attire is required at this restaurant that's  open 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Mario's
Journey to Northern Italy via this Tuscan-inspired restaurant with an open kitchen, ironwork, and vaulted ceilings. The enchanting dining experience also features a special Medieval-themed area for children, where they'll enjoy an extraordinary dining experience. The fare includes Italian favorites and some new surprises from more than 21 different regions, but with a nice focus on the Lombardi region where Chef E.A. Mario was born. One of the signature dishes, Osso Buco alla Milanese (braised veal shank with saffron risotto) is sure to tantalize your taste buds.

The dress code for this restaurant is casual throughout the day, but we recommend getting a little more dressed up at night (although not required).

Breakfast: 6:30 to 10:30 a.m.; Lunch: 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.; Dinner: 5:30 to 10:00 p.m.

Mr. Mac
Kids will love this food truck located in the water park where the cheesiest of mac and cheeses can be found! Not only do they have the classic cheesy noodles, but you can add toppings like shredded pork and parmesan chicken to your meal as well. Open daily, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Neptunes
Located beachside in the Key West Village, this casual restaurant serving up seafood and Mediterranean-inspired dishes with views of the Atlantic Ocean is definitely a favorite with guests. Soak in the quiet atmosphere as you enjoy breakfast in the morning, or dinner with friends at night. Dinners are generally three courses, featuring lobster mussels, octopus, shrimp, salmon and tuna paired with fresh produce.

Breakfast offers a few unique options, including Maple thyme oatmeal (one of our favorites!), along with resort favorites like the frittata rustica and avocado toast. Dress is resort casual, but parents tend to dress up a bit more at night.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras

  • Babysitting
Besides its baby and kids' centers included during the day, private daytime care is available at $20 per hour until 11 p.m. The price goes up to $25 per hour from 11pm to 8pm. If you plan to stay out past 11 p.m., there's an extra $20 charge to cover the babysitter's transportation home.
  • Departure Lounge
If you want to use the resort's facilities after you check out, the Departure Lounge will store luggage, and also provides a place to shower and dress following water activities. This is conveniently located where the airport shuttle departs, too.
  • Dietary Needs
For anyone requiring a special diet while staying at Beaches, a desk in the Caribbean Village Lobby operates from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to take requests. The staff will ensure at least one dish at every restaurant, at any given time, will meet dietary constraints. Note that if you have any dietary restrictions, including kosher meals, that the resort doesn't regularly carry, you'll need to give the resort a one-month notice prior to arrival. When in doubt, call or email the resort ahead of time.
  • Exercise Center
Start your day with an invigorating workout at the resort's 900-square-foot fitness center, located in the French Village. You can also exercise in a fitness facility at the Key West Village. Changing facilities are available.
  • Internet
Wi-Fi is free in rooms and all common areas. The connection isn’t always the best, so don’t get frustrated if you can’t connect in your room. Simply walk over to the check-in desk to ask for the best hotspot closest to your room.
  • Orientation
Welcome orientations are held daily at 9 a.m. in the Main Lobby of the Caribbean Village and 4 p.m. in the Key West Village Library. With the resort's expansive size, we highly recommend someone from your family attend to learn about all the programs, restaurants and special events taking place during your stay.
  • Nurse's Station
A resort of this size needs to be ready for emergencies, so a trained nurse is available daily in the Caribbean Village from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. A doctor is on call 24/7 if an emergency should arise.
  • Red Lane Spa
Step into the tranquil haven of these spas—one in the French Village and the other in the Key West Village—to experience a sanctuary for mind, body and soul that blends classic spa offerings with a Caribbean flair. Body treatments, massages, facials, pedicures and manicures are wonderful. There's also a couple's massage that can be a great treat while the kids are kept busy with their own fun.
  • Tipping
As an all-inclusive resort, Beaches has a "no-tipping" policy. Tips for housekeeping, servers, bartenders, childcare staff and pool/beach attendants are all included in rates. This doesn't mean staff won't accept additional tips, though, or provide a little extra attention to your family if you choose to tip.

The Best Time to Visit Beaches Turks & Caicos
All facilities are open year-round. Similar to other Caribbean destinations, the fall is often considered a shoulder season, while winter is a popular due to the cold temperatures in the Northern U.S. During the summer, many great deals are available. Average air temperature is 82 degrees Fahrenheit/28 degrees Celsius during the day and 72/22 at night. This property receives abundant sunshine and enjoys warm temperatures year-round, so anytime is a great time to visit.

Getting There
Airport transfers are included in a stay at Beaches Turks & Caicos. Simply check in at the booth just after you exit the airport past immigration. The airport (Providenciales) is about a 15-minute drive to the resort.

Direct flights to Turks and Caicos are offered from New York, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta,  Charlotte, Toronto and Montreal airports. United, American Airlines, Delta and Jet Blue all offer nonstop flights. Other U.S. hubs usually offer connecting flights through Florida and Puerto Rico.

Upon departure, guests will need to pay a $20 fee, per adult, at the airport.

  • Passports
Passports are needed for all visitors arriving in Turks and Caicos. Depending on your country of origin, you may need further visas or documentation. Make sure you check before your arrival. U.S. and Canadian guests only need a passport, though.

For Parents
Parents can rest easy knowing their children are taken care of with Beaches' Certified Nannies, so there's plenty of time to check out several activities on property that will reignite the romance. Couples can dive hand in hand during a scuba session, lay in a hammock on the beach sipping endless top-shelf cocktails, indulge in a romantic candlelit dinner on the sand, or experience the Red Lane Spa's Night Blooming Jasmine massage, designed to enhance the connection between you and your partner.
