Overview

There are seven hotels in Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney), including the B Resort, which debuted in 2014. All of the hotels provide exceptionally family-friendly accommodations and an ideal location on Lake Buena Vista, but when it comes to value, you can’t beat the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort.

Highlights include complimentary shuttle service to the parks (a selling point in itself), character dining experiences, an aquatic playground and swimming pool, and even a Director of Fun, who organizes special activities and events for kids. Accommodations, though slightly dated, don’t disappoint either, providing mini-fridges, free Wi-Fi, and if you’re lucky, views of fireworks and the World.

Room Information

Find the Best Price for Your Stay

The hotel has several different accommodation variations available, though many people don't realize they're housed in two separate buildings: Tower and Lake View. Accommodations in the Tower are more expensive (especially those on the upper floors -- they feature outstanding views), while rooms in Lake View are easier on the wallet.

All accommodations feature in-room mini-fridges, coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, shower and tub combinations in bathrooms, and other standard amenities, such as safes, hairdryers and irons and ironing boards. Cribs and rollaway beds are available upon request, free of charge, as are connecting rooms.

Tower
Disney View Tower Rooms
These rooms, located on the upper floors of the Tower, feature views of some of the parks, as well as fireworks shows. They're equipped with one king or two double beds.

Tower Rooms
These rooms don't feature the views that Disney View Tower Rooms do, but they offer similar square footage and bed options, with two double beds or one king and one sofa bed available.

Lake View Tower Rooms
These rooms offer views of the buildings that surround Lake Buena Vista and have two double beds or one king bed.

Lake View
Lake View Exterior Rooms
These rooms offer individual, outside entrances, similar to a motel. They offer two double beds or one king bed.

Standard Exterior Rooms
These rooms also offer individual, outside entrances, and open up to the hotel's courtyard. They have two double beds or one king bed.

Reviews

Great Location and Great Hotel.

by goldenstrand

Well, this is the best time to visit and stay at the hotel. Christmas Tree and decorations are displayed. I love reading in the lobby by the Christmas Tree. Pool area is extremely nice. Pool Bar/Restaurant is closed for renovations. However, the sign said they were serving food in the Picnic Area. Not sure where, the signs should be more clear. As for the rooms, I stayed in the room with outside hallways. I prefer this section. Well, I guess, third time is a charm as when I opened the door to the room, it was totally renovated and cheerful. Management listens to customers as many have complained the rooms were dark and dreary. Rooms are now elegantly appointed. Well, since Disney Springs was totally packed, I decided to have a drink and supper in the lobby bar. Service was fine and the Gumbo was great. As for my drink, Long Island Iced Tea, the bartender made the drink very well. Now, kudos to Mike, the front-desk clerk who checked me in. He was excellent and courteous. Best of all, I only had to pay for parking as I was redeeming my points being a Wyndham Rewards Member. Upon check-in,I received a bag of snacks and water. Bell staff and Valet were very good too.

Great Place to Stay

We had an incredible stay. Disney Springs was just a short walk away and very convenient. Every staff member I engaged with was friendly and knowledgeable. The room was comfortable and very quiet. I can't say enough good things about it!

Family Activities

Aquatic Playground and Pool
The hotel has a refreshing outdoor pool with zero-entry access and a giant fountain feature in the middle. Adjacent to the pool is the Aquatic Playground, a spray ground with dump buckets, a mushroom and water jets for little ones to enjoy. There are no lifeguards on duty.

Sports Courts
The hotel provides a tennis court (lit at night) and a sand volleyball court. There's also a basketball court. Equipment is provided by the hotel, free of charge.

Video Game Room
Teens enjoy the hotel's indoor game room, which features traditional arcade games like an air hockey table and crane machine.

Director of Fun
The hotel has a designated Director of Fun! She organizes games and themed events for kids of all ages to enjoy. She also recognizes birthdays and other life events with special offerings -- contact the hotel and ask to speak with the Director of Fun in advance of your trip.

Family Dining

Lakeview Restaurant
As the name suggests, views of Lake Buena Vista are available at this onsite restaurant. The biggest highlight, however, is the Disney Character Breakfast, offered 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Breakfast consists of a buffet, and includes interactions with classic characters like Goofy and Pluto. If you don't opt for the Disney Character Breakfast, you can order from an a la carte menu. Dinner is also served, 5 to 10 p.m., and includes fish, steak and chicken specialties, as well as burgers and club sandwiches. Separate kids' menus are available.

Oasis Bar & Grill
Oasis Bar & Grill is located next to the pool, and offers casual, kid-friendly eats, such as burgers, wraps, sandwiches, salads and smoothies. It's open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Sundial 24-7
When you're on the go, this shop, open 24 hours, is great for coffee, pastries and snacks to grab en route to Disney World or the airport.

Room Service
Room service is available 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., though menus aren't available in rooms. Inquire about room service at the front desk.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras
Resort Fee
The hotel charges a daily fee of $20.25 (tax included), which covers shuttle service, a daily newspaper and access to free Wi-Fi (unlimited devices).

Gift Shop
If you forgot to purchase a specific souvenir or don't feel like fighting store lines in the parks, you can purchase a wide selection of mugs, bags, shirts, stuffed animals and the ever-popular Mickey Ears at the hotel's onsite gift shop.

Packages
The hotel offers several packages, including one that allows parents to save $30 per breakfast and kids (ages 11 and under) to eat free. There's also an Advance Purchase Package for more savings.

Fitness Center
There's a small fitness center open 24 hours. Located on the hotel's first floor, it features a few cardio machines and a small selection of free weights. There aren't any windows in the room, however, so you might prefer a more scenic run along the pathway outside the hotel.

Business Center
The hotel has a business center with four computers and a printer.

Laundry Facilities
The resort has a laundry room for guests to use, and detergent is available for purchase onsite.

The Art of Smart Timing
The hotel is typically at full capacity most any time of the year, though you'll find fewer crowds and slightly lower rates during January and February. The hotel is most crowded during the summer months and winter break time.

Getting There
Orlando International Airport is approximately 20 minutes from the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort. You can rent a car at the airport and park at the hotel for $8 per day, plus tax (valet or self-parking). Expect to pay about $2.50 in tolls on your way there (and then back). Alternatively, you can utilize the LYNX, a bus service with routes to Downtown Disney.

Getting Around
You can rent a car once you reach the hotel -- Dollar Car Rental has a location onsite -- or you can utilize the hotel's complimentary shuttle service to get around. The shuttle travels to all of the theme parks in Disney World, including Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. When you're not at the park, you can easily get to a plethora of restaurants on foot if you're willing to walk an easy, shaded mile along Hotel Plaza Boulevard.

For Mom and Dad
Grab a drink at the casual Eclipse Lounge, or, if grandma and grandpa are able to watch the kids for an evening, treat yourselves at one of the new restaurants in Downtown Disney, such as The Boathouse Restaurant. The restaurant offers fine dining on the waterfront, with seafood and steak specialties on the menu.
