Just had two weeks on Kihaa in a fantastic sea villa. It is one of those islands you imagine that you can just swim or wade around the several kilometers of turquoise water and yellow sand. Thousands of fish. We just caught the end of the Manra season. Spectacular! The pools, the facilities, the restaurant, staff and the Maldivian welcome are excellent. It's currently going through a refurbishment upgrade, which will leave it even more stunning.
Special mention to some of the great staff, look out for them. S. Vivek and Dawa in the bars, our fabulous room boy, Praveen. Zara, one of the department heads who can create exciting cocktails with Aloe Vera! Also one of the very attentive and helpful restaurant waiters, Arif. I would like to name more but they were all in the process of getting new name tags and forgot to get their details.
Very warm, friendly staff who want you to relax and enjoy their Island. Look out for their super upgraded offerings with individual infinity pools.
If you want to try the Maldives try Kihaa. This island is what you see in the pictures!

-Rubbish taken out 2ce a week!!
-Towels are grey (when they are supposed to be white!!!).
- the hotel is 20 years old and the refurbishment hasn’t happened for this many years. Everything is old/rusted to the core and falling apart.
-Food is most awful - the most expensive piece of chicken served - is chicken drumsticks :( no fresh fish :(
-The island is not sprayed for bugs often enough and our children got eaten by mosquitoes.
- Rot and pubic hair from previous visitors in the showers that are not draining and stinks 24 hours a day
- it takes them an hour to make a pizza!
- as we stepped foot on the Ireland having dragged across the world is two small kids and 2 flight connections - we were made to pay the bill!!!!
If you’re not on All inclusive you will get robbed on cheap alcohol and pre fabricated just about warmed up dishes :( a la cart menu is so poor that even a take away joint in east London can do better!! And now add the fact that price for a pizza, I mean - a pizza is 25-30 dollars!!!!
This is the WORST hotel in all of Maldives :(
Out of positives:
- you can go swim with Manta rays! But I think there are other hotels nearby: truly recommend you avoid this place at all cost as this is a scam :(
