Just outside of Cincinnati, Kings Island is a must for families. The park is more than 40 years old and is home to the longest wooden roller coaster in the world, appropriately named the Beast. The park’s newest addition, Banshee, is the world’s longest inverted roller coaster, as well as one of the park’s most popular attractions. For those with younger kids, Planet Snoopy has adorable, age-appropriate rides.
Admission is $60 per adult and $37 per child; Fast Passes are additional and available at kiosks throughout the park. Admission includes access to Soak City, the onsite water park, which recently added the 65-foot-tall “Tropical Plunge” attraction with six slides–three of which include “aqua-launch” chambers that send you into a near freefall!
Like most attractions, it’s best to arrive early. Although the rides don’t start until 10 a.m., the park opens the gates at 9 a.m. and people begin parking at 8:30 to get as close to the front as possible. Regular parking costs $12, whereas preferred parking costs $20. Guests can bring their own strollers or rent them from the park, as well as wheelchairs and all-day or hourly lockers. Kings Island is open daily, 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., from May through Labor Day, with weekend hours varying in the fall.
